EdTechNZ member, the Auckland Institute of Studies (AIS), seeks companies willing to offer internships to students currently undertaking diploma and degree programmes majoring in Information Technology (IT).
The exact internship hours per week and duration is agreed between AIS, the student intern, and the company hosting an intern.
There are two types of internships, designed to accommodate different student needs:
- 16 to 20 hours per week over two trimesters (28 weeks excluding trimester and Christmas breaks)
or
- 32 hours per week over one trimester (14 weeks)
No pay to students is requirement. Internship courses are designed to provide students with practical, hands-on experience in the IT industry. This course aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world application, preparing students for successful careers.
