We’re pleased to invite you to nominate yourself, or someone you believe in, for the EdTechNZ Executive Council.
Why it matters
Education is the foundation on which all of New Zealand will prosper and grow. As the voice of EdTech in Aotearoa, EdTechNZ’s mission is to improve lives and increase the access to, quality of, and impact of education through innovative technology for the benefit of educators and learners here and around the world.
To keep building on our success, we need a purposeful, driven Executive Council. Please consider who could make an impact, and help ensure the new Council reflects the diversity of the community we serve.
Vacancies
This year we have five positions available, each for a two-year term:
- Major Corporate Seat (1 position)
- Other Corporate Seat (1 position)
- SME & Start-up Seat (1 position)
- Government Seat (1 position)
- Education Seat (1 position)
We welcome a diverse range of skills and experience. Successful candidates will contribute across four core Board portfolios:

| Education Technology & Education Policy | Education technology, AI, digital transformation and education policy |
| Strategy & Growth | Strategic direction, membership, partnerships and sector growth |
| Commercialisation & International Growth | Commercialisation, finance, investment, exports and international markets |
Eligibility
Nominees must:
- Belong to an EdTechNZ member organisation (fully paid up by the time voting begins)
- Be in the membership category they are nominated for
- Be up to date with their EdTechNZ membership fees
Nominations close 5pm, 14 September 2026.
What Council members do
- Provide strategic direction and governance oversight of EdTechNZ’s business and affairs
- Contribute to bimonthly Executive Council meetings (approx. two hours; video conferencing)
- Represent EdTechNZ at industry events, forums and official delegations
- Lead and contribute to Council working groups and strategic projects
- Serve as an authorised spokesperson on matters agreed by the Council
- Advocate for EdTechNZ and the sector at the highest levels
- Nurture membership growth and retention, strengthening the association’s reach and influence

- Build senior-level relationships across the EdTech ecosystem, founders, educators, investors and government
- Strengthen your professional standing and sector influence through governance service

Voting
Voting takes place online over two weeks, ahead of the Annual Meeting. Each member organisation has one vote, allocated to its primary contact. Results will be announced at the Annual Meeting on 19 October 2026.
