Welcome to our June newsletter. As we move into the winter months across Aotearoa, we’ve been focused on strengthening regional ties and connecting with our members across the Tasman.
Earlier this month, Executive Director Dean Watson and I attended EDUtech in Sydney, the largest gathering of EdTechs in the Southern Hemisphere. A highlight was getting valuable face-to-face time with ten EdTech New Zealand member companies on the ground and planting seeds for future community growth.
A few key insights from our time on the exhibition floor:
- Evidence of Impact: Following Australia’s digital push in the 2010s, there is a growing demand for evidence-based data. Kiwi EdTechs entering the market must be ready to prove their products deliver measurable results.
- ST4S Frameworks: We secured direct facetime with the Safer Technologies 4 Schools (ST4S) team. We now have a much deeper understanding of the security process to help members navigating these requirements.
- Leveraging EduGrowth: Our Australian counterpart had a massive presence, offering cost-effective, curated exhibition spaces. Dual members like SupaHuman, Selma, Capiche, Ripyl, and Teacher’s Buddy took great advantage of this.
